If you are pressed for time, the Kanchenjunga trek can be done in a shorter period too. We fly to Gunsa by chartered helicopter and then start walking to Kambachhen, a Tibetan settlement. Great views of the mountains around Kanchenjunga like Khabur, Phole and Janu can be enjoyed from Kambachhen. We then walk on to Ramtang where we stop for one day to do some hiking around the place. It is possible to see blue sheep grazing on the slopes. The next day we trek down to Gunsa in order to catch a helicopter and flight back to Kathmandu.
