The trek to the Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar is short and sweet. The walk offers a marvelous experience of the Everest region without having to undergo the rigors of a full- length trek. The journey begins with an exciting flight to Lukla from where we begin walking. The trail passes across patches of forest, up and down slopes and over log bridges. We stop for the night at the village of Phakding. From here onwards caravans of shaggy yaks carrying loads are frequently met on the trails. The trail crosses the Dudh Koshi river over a high suspension bridge. We have our first view of Everest and Namche is reached after a final steep climb. The village is set on the slopes of a horseshoe shaped valley. Spending a day at Namche to rest and look around the colorful trading center, we walk back to Lukla the next day for the return flight to Kathmandu.
Namaste ! Kindly accept heartily greetings from the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal.
