TSUKINO-IE
(Far from the madding crowd)

There are few places on earth like Nepal where you can enjoy
so much diversity in such a small place. And, Pokhara is such
a lovely destination that no words can express its beauty.
This is not only an "Ode to Odyssey" but certainly
once in a life time there to be.
And, Tsukino-ie (meaning the house of moon) in Japanese language)
is our mountain based resort in a tranquil countryside about
30km north to Pokhara City. Established in 1992, it is a simple
mountain villa in a remote country side just beneath the Annapurna
range. The resort is built on hilltop from where beautiful
scene of the valley and villages, hills and rills can be observed.
Modern amenities like T.V, Telephone, Jacuzzi has been cut-
off in order to provide natural pleasure to the clients. The
resort is made up of stone, mud and wood in order to give
natural appearance to the resort 'originality and simplicity'.
Going around the village tour and up to the sunset view point
is very exciting. Japanese style round bronze bath- tub 'Goemumburo'
is another interesting part of the resort. And, beautiful
mountain views can be enjoyed from the Goemumburo. After dipping
into the Goemumburo, it is pleasant to have local millet wine
and local hen with camp- fire in an open night sky full of
moon and stars.
As a whole, the resort gives you an unobstructed panoramic
snow- clad Mountain View of annapurna range including Mt.
Machhapuchhre divided into two peaks like a tail of fish just
in a stone throw distance. The snow-clad mountain painted
in a crimson paint in twilight is magnificent and the whiff
of fresh air is more delightful. In short, the atmosphere
is something like a poet's " A song born on a quiet night"
so melodious, so sweet, so delightful- a perfect Shangri-La.
You feel as if you are close to heaven. A touch of happiness
tingles in your heart. It is simply a paradise where you can
see, feel, touch and be with the nature. If you wish
to step in the beauty of solitude amidst the nature and experience
the sound of silence, this is an ideal place for those who
want to escape and be far from the madding crowd...
